What is a Gold Star Family?
Gold star families include spouses, children, parents, siblings, and others who have lost a loved one in service to our nation.
The term "gold star" originated during World War I. Families would display small banners featuring a blue star for each immediate family member serving in the armed forces. If a service member died while in service, the family would replace the blue star with a gold star. This symbolic gesture communicated to the community that their loved one had made the ultimate sacrifice serving their country.
With deep respect and gratitude for the sacrifices made by our military families, we are proud to announce that a portion of the proceeds from our Gold Star necklace is dedicated to supporting America's Gold Star Families. This contribution is aimed at providing assistance, honor, and support to those who have experienced the profound loss of a loved one during active duty service. By choosing our Gold Star necklace, you are not only acquiring a meaningful piece of jewelry but also actively participating in our commitment to stand beside and uplift those who have sacrificed so much for our country.
